UK Caller ID

Have just installed Phone Amego and can use it to dial via a landline/usb modem with no problem, but no caller id info is being displayed for incoming calls. All I get is a 'Not Available' message in the pop-up window. The debug log looks as follows (if it is any help):

Your setup is fine. The call log shows your USB modem is not reporting Caller ID. Which USB modem do you actually have?

I have received a few reports that the Zoom 3095 may not recognize caller ID in the UK (from British Telecom).
I've also seen on the web that not all models from US Robotics recognize UK caller ID (but some do).
Since I have no easy way to test this myself, I'm hoping to find an authoritative reference or user report.

I just sent an inquiry to USR customer support.

Hello, I'm writing to inquire whether the USR 5637 USB modem is compatible with UK Caller ID as provided by British Telecom.

I'm the developer of Phone Amego which provides Macintosh to phone integration and several of my customers are asking to clarify whether Caller ID is supported in the UK.

Here is the response:

All our modems including USR805637 are caller ID compatible if the service provider allows for this.

In the case of a BT line there should'nt be any issues with UK Caller ID.

My modem was a generic one but I have now installed a Zoom V92 and still have the same result. I shall be checking with BT first thing tomorrow morning about the Caller ID feature.

Did you have any luck with this? I'm trying with a Zoom 3095 External Mini V.92 USB Modem and virgin media caller ID works fine, BT doesn't!

My understanding from user reports is that the USR modems works with BT caller ID, whereas the Zoom 3095 does not.
