AB lookup

Peter,

What a fantastic implementation of CID solution. I'm using it for BT and VoIP notification with iPhone 3GS and SPA-2100. Notification is handled by Growl... Brilliant!
I do have one question. Do you have any plans on integrating a contact look up from AB's Exchange 2007 account(s)?

TIA
Dave

I don't have any plans yet because I don't know much about it. Phone Amego uses Apple's Address Book to search for matching contacts in the Address Book store. I understand you can configure Address Book to access an Exchange 2007 Address Book Server Account. I'm not sure how I would search that, but perhaps there is a way to tell Address Book to search other Address Book accounts the user has configured. That would be a great feature to add.

Kind Regards,

- Peter

I'm at WWDC this week and asked this very question in the Address Book Framework lab.

The answer is that it's not currently supported, but Apple is well aware of this request.
If (when?) Apple does add support for this, searching the Address Book as Phone Amego
currently does should automatically include search results from server based Address Book
accounts.

Kind Regards,

- Peter

Hi there,

I've had this very problem with several other applications who look up contact data via Address Book.app. Bottom line, as you quoted from WWDC: The standard queries don't include server-based address books - which is a bummer for me, since I have all my contact data either on my home server or my work Exchange account. So pretty please, put some pressure on Apple wherever you can, to implement this feature ASAP ;-)

I've submitted my complaints directly to Apple via feature requests, too.

Best
