Mac BT keeps stealing connection

First off, love the product, but here recently I've been having what I consider a "new" problem.

I have PA (1.4_7) on my MBP (Late 2011 10.8.3) connected to my iPhone 5. Now, I never use PA as a speaker phone on the Mac, the only thing I use it for is service enabled dialing from the Mac. I have a BT headset connected to the iPhone. This has worked fine for me for quite a while now. I dial with PA on the Mac, use the BT headset on the phone. No issue.

Here recently though PA has been stealing back the BT audio connection from me, causing auto to be routed through the Mac. This is more common if I walk out of BT range of my MBP, then come back into range while I'm on the phone. It can and does happen though while I'm sitting right in front of it throughout the call.

This is new, at least new for me. Is this the result of a patch or iOS update? Perhaps it's just bad luck on my part, compared to good luck in the past with it working well. Any thoughts are appreciated.

This is probably a result of upgrading to 1.4_7 which fixed a bug in "Handsfree When Selected".

I think you can fix the problem as follows:
(1) Select your iPhone in the Telephone Devices Table.
(2) Set the popup below the table to "Accept Handsfree Never".

There's more information here: http://www.sustworks.com/pa_guide/handsfree.html
Your choices are:
- Accept HandsFree Always (always route call audio to your Mac)
- HandsFree When Selected (route audio to your Mac if you answer or dial from your Mac)
- Accept HandsFree Never (keep audio on your phone unless you change the audio source explicitly from your phone or select "Speakerphone" in PA)

In previous versions, "Handsfree When Selected" didn't always accept audio when dialing from your Mac, and "Accept Handsfree Never" was less reliable.

Kind Regards,

- Peter

Thanks Peter, I appreciate the response. I'll work through the suggestions and see what shakes out.
