Multiple Outbound Routes for Asterisk

Hi. I have an Asterisk configuration with multiple outbound routes. If I prefix the call with 3, the call uses a particular outbound caller ID. If I prefix the call with 5, the call uses a different outbound caller ID, using a different outbound route.

I can set up multiple "locations" in Phone Amego that correspond to these varying outbound routes, but can't find a way to select the outbound route when I place a call. Am I missing something, or is this feature not available? I see a choice of L1, L2, L3, and L4, but I don't know what those are. I can't seem to create multiple Asterisk devices--each time I create a new one, it replaces the old one.

Is this even possible? Thanks -- Ken

Hi Ken,

This should be possible but might need a little coordination and testing. Please Email me directly.

Typical SIP phones have more than one line and these are Identified as L1, L2 ( Line1, Line2, etc.). The part that isn't clear yet is that normally with a SIP phone you switch lines from the phone itself (by pressing a line button). I believe there is a way to have Phone Amego parse a line number if specified in a SIP URL but will need to review the code.

You can't create more than one Asterisk configuration that points to the same IP Address. If your server running Asterisk has a 2nd IP address, you should be able to create a 2nd Asterisk telephone device in Phone Amego.

Kind Regards,

- Peter
