C3 Spitty Keys, reduction, the unobtainable?

I'm in the process of tuning up my 1961 C3 (sn 85xxx), I've had it now for 20 years and it has always sounded dull and lifeless so I've been looking for things to tweek, so far I'm having a lot of success.

Anyway one problem which I think cannot be resolved is key click, as in, play a key and SPIT.tone meaning, upon every key depression I get a lot of that contact/busbar click/spit then the musical tone.

I understand this was a big problem for Hammond back in the day so I might be chasing the unobtainable, however I wonder now so many people have looked at this maybe someone has found a way to reduce the effect. I'd be happy just to reduce the effect.

So far I have done the procedure as described in the Service Manual, that being, depress keys and fully wind that brass screw (rear right) a number of times to "scrape" the contacts on the busbars.

I've done this a number of times but isn't having much effect. My plan B would be to access the busbars and apply WD40.

Any ideas?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
