Hello Peter, old user but now not launching on boot. Login items shows App=Unknown' Normally use Tools to monitor traffic. OS Snow Leopard; iMac intel; V2.6.1 Repaired permissions; took app out of folder into Applications; removed helper so NKE is first-run? Used MainMenu to remove caches etc but still no launching+Unknown in Login items. iMac Account is Admin. Deleted the Unknown one, added the known one from correct location. Any advice please? :?:

Is it really IPNetMonitorX you are trying to launch as a startup item outside the context of any logged in user?
I remember doing this for IPNetRouterX but not for IPNetMonitorX.

In any case, the startup item would be called something like "IPNetMonitorX_startup" and would actually be a bundle (or folder) containing two files of the same name (but different extensions).
(1) A propertly list.
(2) A shell script to launch the application.

These file would need to owned by root and not writable by any other user in order to work. With that caveat, you should be able to place it in "System/Library/Startup Items". I think the new way is to use "Launch Daemons", but IPNetRouterX didn't need these more advanced features.

Kind Regards,

- Peter

What is your question?

Are you trying to remove the startup item, or trying to have IPNetMonitorX launch?
If it's not launching as expected, open the Console.app and look at the system.log for an error message describing what happened. It's possible the version of IPNetMonitorX is not compatible with your system, or some system component (library) that IPNetMonitorX requires is missing.
