Keyclick and Mavericks

Postby guass » Thu Nov 07, 2013 12:11 am

Hello, since I installed last Apple operating system, MacOS 10.9 Mavericks, keyclick is working just half: I get mouse sound, but no way to get keyboard clicks. Is anyone else having this same problem? Is there a solution? Will you make an update? Thanks in advance for the answers!

Apple changed the rules in Mavericks by making "Allow access for assistive devices" controlled on a per application basis.

I have built a new version of Keyclick that works by requiring an administrator to authenticate, but was hoping to find a better solution. Please contact me directly if you would like to try this version.

Kind Regards,

I get key and mouse clicks, but only through the internal speakers. Cannot get them to play through line out any more. All other sounds play fine through line out, except Keyclick.

Tried the latest candidate (1.3.4), no solution.

Keyclick lets you choose between "system sounds" or "alert sounds". The rest should be a function of your audio settings in Sound Preferences.

This means the logged in user does not have read/write access to the file path listed in the error message.

You can fix this by manually correcting the file permissions on the folders in the listed path, or create a file named "Keyclick_key" containing your registration data from the XML plist and manually place this file at:

/Library/Application Support/Sustainable Softworks/

You may need to enter an administrator password since Keyclick was not allowed to save to this location.

I see that several people have lost the keyboard sounds with Mavericks. It was flaky with OS X 10.9, But now with OS X 10.9.1 the keyboard sounds are completely GONE. I still have the clicks with the trackpad but nothing else.

I repaired permissions, trashed preferences and reinstalled.

The keyboard sounds have disappeared AGAIN.

I SURE HOPE PETER OR SOMEONE IS WORKING ON THIS...

iMac, Late 2013, 14,2
3.2 GHz Intel Core i5 27"
16 GB Ram
1TB Fusion HD
OS X 10.9.1

Grab Keyclick version 1.3.5 from my website and make sure you authenticate to re-enable Keyboard sounds. Kind Regards, - Peter
