Microphone not working!

Postby helio83 » Fri Sep 06, 2013 8:30 am

hi there,
I just purchased Phone Amego, I am working with a pair of Trust GXT 26 5.1 Surround USB Headset , I can hear perfectly but the microphone doesn't seem to work when I call or someone calls me. On the other hand, the microphone works perfectly when i use Skype or other VOIP softwares.
How can I set up Phone Amego to work with those? I already got into preferences and I've selected USB Sound Device for the IN and OUT sound.
Thanks

(1) Select your telephone device in the Telephone Devices table and verify you have selected "HandsFree Always".

(2) Next, make sure you have selected the desired input device in the HandsFree box under the More tab.

Those are the two settings Phone Amego has control over. There is a Debug Log you can enable under the More tab to see what Phone Amego is doing. If you Email the text of this log to me, I can possibly help sort out what happened.

Another thing to try is turning Bluetooth off and then back both at your Mac and your iPhone.

Kind Regards,

Apparently, with the current version, those boxes are greyed out. I switched back to some older version where I could still select from the boxes, but that also didn't help then.

Those boxes were grayed out because Apple removed the previous Bluetooth audio API on Mavericks. There's no longer any way for Phone Amego to control these selections outside of the Audio Preferences panel. I'm well aware this is a problem for many customers. For whatever reason, Bluetooth audio between the Mac and iPhone (via HFP) has not been a high priority at Apple, or the problems are difficult to fix.

I wish I had a better answer. It would sure help Phone Amego and by extension the Mac and iPhone to provide a better user experience.

Kind Regards,
