My Yealink phone shows this error "File Format Error!"

Postby jgaltUSA » Thu Jan 08, 2015 3:50 am

After entering the action URL's into my Yealink T38G I am seeing an error whenever I pick up the receiver or make a call. I am able to place and receive calls but the error is persistent.

Can someone please tell me how to correct this problem?

Model: Yealink T38G
Firmware Version: 38.70.1.33
Hardware Version: 21.2.3.160.0.0.0

Thanks.

It appears a solution is documented here:

Let me know how this works.

That's a lot of information on that page that you referenced that I don't quite understand what I'm supposed to do.

Do I need to make modifications to these URLs?
Code: Select all
http://192.168.1.112:8080/offhook/yealink?device=$mac&local=$local&model=$model&firmware=$firmware
http://192.168.1.112:8080/onhook/yealink?device=$mac&local=$local
http://192.168.1.112:8080/incomingcall/yealink?device=$mac&local=$local&remote=$remote&displayremote=$display_remote
http://192.168.1.112:8080/outgoingcall/yealink?device=$mac&local=$local&remote=$remote&displayremote=$display_remote
http://192.168.1.112:8080/callestablished/yealink?&device=$mac&local=$local
http://192.168.1.112:8080/callterminated/yealink?device=$mac&local=$local
http://192.168.1.112:8080/callterminated/yealink?device=$mac&local=$local

I also noticed that "call terminated" and "missed call" show the same URL. Is this is a mistake?

Are you sure that the solution to the problem is on the page that you have provided?

Trying to resolve this issue has been extremely frustrating. I have spent hours trying to fix the problem and I have yet to find a solution. It appears that the communication back from your software is what is causing the errors.

I'm trying to integrate your software into a FileMaker database solution for a customer of mine and they're growing impatient with me for not getting this working.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I understand it's frustrating and I'm sorry for that. What you can find on the page linked to above (after some analysis) is that this is a Yealink firmware issue and they recommend updating your phone to use the latest firmware.

Updating the firmware on Yealink phones is not difficult. Briefly, you download the right firmware for your phone from the Yealink support page, choose update firmware from your phone's Web UI, and select the file you downloaded in the mini-finder that appears.

I use the Yealink SIP-T22P and do not experience this problem. If the problem persists after you update your phone's firmware, we should ask Yealink for another solution in their tech support forum.

Kind Regards,

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply. I will take another look at the firmware options right now. Just after installing your plugin I upgraded my phones firmware because I noticed that there were options in your snapshot that I was not seeing in my phones older firmware.

Could you please check back in this forum in a little bit to see if I got it working? I am supposed to install my FileMaker solution at my customer's office tomorrow and if I can get Phone Amego to work I will be purchasing multiple copies. If it takes me another week to resolve this problem my customer is going to be really disappointed with me. I have already been telling them that I have been trying to make this work for more than a week.

Thanks.

The firmware that I indicated that I was using in my initial post (Firmware Version: 38.70.1.33) appears to be the latest version.

I created a new post in their support forum a week ago in search of a solution to this problem. Unfortunately I have still not found a solution to the problem.

Here is a link to my post in in the Yealink forum: http://goo.gl/VO7Msj

Do you think an older version of the Yealink firmware would be more compatible with Phone Amego than Firmware Version: 38.70.1.33?

On the "About" page of my website there is a contact phone number. You can reach me at that number if needed.
http://www.sustworks.com/sb_site/about.html

Regarding your other questions:
Call Terminated and Missed call use the same URL. That's expected. Both URLs tell Phone Amego the call has ended. If there was no answer, PA will know the call was missed.

I don't see any problem with the Action URLs you have entered. Your phone sends these to Phone Amego reporting a telephone event. Phone Amego's built-in web server responds with a standard 200 success message (and no other headers since there is no data to return).

CFHTTPMessageRef response =
CFHTTPMessageCreateResponse(
kCFAllocatorDefault, 200, NULL, kCFHTTPVersion1_1);

if (fileData) {
CFHTTPMessageSetHeaderFieldValue(
response, (CFStringRef)@"Content-Type", (CFStringRef)@"text/xml");
CFHTTPMessageSetHeaderFieldValue(
response, (CFStringRef)@"Connection", (CFStringRef)@"close");
CFHTTPMessageSetHeaderFieldValue(
response,
(CFStringRef)@"Content-Length",
(CFStringRef)[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%ld", (unsigned long)[fileData length]]);
CFHTTPMessageSetBody(
response,
(CFDataRef)fileData);
}
CFDataRef headerData = CFHTTPMessageCopySerializedMessage(response);

I'm open to testing an empty file if you think that will help. Is there something else you'd like to try? We can do this today if needed. You know how to reach me.

Kind Regards,

- Peter

Peter, it will take me a few minutes to set it up but if you are up for it I could setup another Yealink T38 phone on a dedicated computer for testing and give you remote access via Team Viewer. http://www.teamviewer.com

The other phone (and all of my clients phones) are running an older version of the firmware so I can update the firmware as needed for testing.
