Can't log in to Google Voice

Though my username and password are correct, Phone Amego times out when I try to log in to Google Voice. Can anyone help? All Google Chat setup says "OK". I'm using the most recent Mac versions 1.4.40. Trial version. I am using Sierra 10.12.4

Google no longer allows 3rd party apps to use their private API.

I realize this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, but my recommendation would be to not use Google Voice. Use a real Internet Telephone Service Provider like CallCentric.com instead.

You will have to pay them $5-10/month, but in exchange you get your privacy, support for standard SIP phones with HD voice, richer call handling features, E911, and a dedicated support team. With an HD phone like a Polycom VVX-300 (Yealink, or similar), the call audio is way better. The speakerphone is way better. Application integration is much better.

Google Voice is good for what it is, but Google has been careful to say it is not a telephone service subject to common carrier taxes, connectivity, and reliability requirements.
