Re: Bluetooth Audio / HandsFree

I'm having trouble starting the handsfree function with my verizon iPhone 4 in a timely manner and would really appreciate any help. If I can get this to work I'm definitely buying it.

Handsfree is set to Always. Once I begin a call, it takes a full minute before the audio comes through my computer speakers. It seems like Phone Amego doesn't even try to transfer the audio until 45 seconds into the call.

If I select the "Speakerphone" function manually (twice, one to turn it off and then turn it on again, even though I'm still not hearing it by then) the process takes 20-30 seconds, and by then the other party has already picked up. The log shows something about a "QT Capture Session" that I'm not seeing on any other logs, is this normal?

The Saffire is my Firewire-connected audio device and the "Unknown USB Audio Device" is my webcam.

I'm on a Mac Pro 5,1 (2010) with OSX Lion.

Is there a way for me to shorten the time it takes to establish a link or "Open the SCO"?

That's weird, I'll need to investigate. Normally the phone should attempt to direct the audio to Phone Amego immediately when the call is answered but I'm not seeing that in your log. Can you confirm what version of Phone Amego you have?

Phone Amego uses a QTCapture session to route the Bluetooth (SCO) audio between your phone and your Mac.

Kind Regards,

The version is 1.4c9.002. let me know if you need any other info.

So far I've tried:

Rebooting my phone,
Deleting/forgetting the devices from the BT settings,
Deleting BT preferences,
Uninstalling Phone Amego and deleting the Phone Amego preferences in /*user*/Library/Preferences/ and then reinstalling.

Speak in built in speakers is a normal feature of the PA.

What is the issue with my phone is I cannot hear anything using the handset. It works only in the loudspeaker mode which is really difficult to deal with the phone. Any ideas what would have happened?

Thanks

Try selecting "Accept HandsFree Never" to prevent audio from being routed to your Mac.

OS X Mavericks includes built-in support for Bluetooth audio with echo cancellation. In my testing it works great.

Enjoy!
